Now, this may not be your typical tech news, but it does raise quite a several fake news from it. And right now we would become your one-time vigilante to make the information right! Well, you know there is a law governing spreading of fake news in certain countries.

So here are the myths vs facts, we could gather from the web!

Myth #1: Coronavirus could spread through the Taobao/AliExpress Parcel

Fact #1: Well, we couldn’t deny such speculation would arise because Taobao/AliExpress parcels most of it coming from China, the ground zero for coronavirus. However, according to news reported by TheStar;

the US Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) posted on its website that there is no evidence to support the transmission of the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) associated with imported goods, with no such cases in the United States so far.

“There is likely very low risk of spread from products or packaging that are shipped over a period of days or weeks at ambient temperatures,” it said on its FAQ (frequently asked questions).

Coronaviruses are generally thought to be spread most often by respiratory droplets, it added.

It also said that all parcels from China are uniformly disinfected by the airlines and only released after customs inspection and quarantine.

Lazada, also an e-commerce company, said in a statement that “there is no indication of the risk of contracting the Wuhan coronavirus from parcels or their contents”.

Myth #2: Pets are responsible for spreading the coronavirus

Fact #2: As reported by (Graphic Warning) The Sun UK, number of PANICKING pet owners are reportedly throwing cats and dogs out of towerblocks following bogus claims deadly coronavirus can be passed on by animals.

Oh my, oh my…how can this even be, I mean you spend most of the time with your beloved pet even before the outbreak, but why suddenly you can be so heartless just to throw your pet over your apartment window?

Until now, there is no evidence, shows it could spread, as normally, the virus would only be spread by human consuming it. And furthermore, it was a local media outlet then reportedly tweaked her words into “cats and dogs can spread the coronavirus”.

The false rumour spread quickly after Zhibo China posted it on social media platform Weibo.

MYTH #3: Coronavirus is Corona Beer

FACT #3: Seriously, this got me LMFAO, like seriously it did! But believe it or not, there is still a large group of people out there still google search the terms “Corona Beer Virus.” I really speechless when I read about it from this post

Let us be clear; “Corona” means “crown” in Latin, which is how the virus got its name. The term “coronavirus” refers to a family of viruses that have spikes on their surfaces resembling little crowns. Period.
